Symposium Events International is to host a forum of mental health experts to help employers gain a better understanding of the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) most recent guidelines on managing stress in the workplace.

The ‘Stress and Mental Health @ Work: Proactive Solutions Forum 2009’ will also present the latest information about mental health management and leading wellbeing case studies.

Research by risk management company AON Consulting recently found that less than one-third of employees would approach their managements with stress-in-the-workplace related problems. However, nine out of 10 employees were categorised as under stress at work.

The sixth annual conference dealing with mental health and stress at work aims to equip employers with the necessary tools to reduce stress-related absenteeism within an organisation and increase productivity.

Leading employers such as Unilever, Premier Foods, Somerset County Council and BP, among others, will attend to discuss case studies with employers coping with stress in their workforce.
