A woman who was unhappy with her strong jaw line has had it reshaped thanks to Botox.
Louise Smith, 30, from Nottingham apparently had not inherited her mother’s oval face and shapely chin. However, a visit to her dentist revealed that Miss Smith’s long-term habit of grinding her teeth had defined the shape of her jaw line.
Miss Smith told the Daily Mail that her habit of bruxism – clenching her jaw and grinding her teeth backwards and forwards – had caused the muscles in the lower part of her face to strengthen, resulting in an almost ‘square-shaped’ jaw line.
The beauty therapist had developed the habit from childhood, but a visit to leading cosmetic surgeon Dr Bob Khanna for a course of Botox injections helped the overworked muscles to relax, giving Miss Smith a much softer and shapelier jaw line.
Dr Khanna calls this treatment ‘the DrBk Lift’. Miss Smith’s habit of clenching and grinding her teeth had resulted in ‘visibly bulky’ lower jaw muscles (masseters) to the side of her face – as well as enlarged upper jaw muscles (temporalis) that lie above the masseters. Miss Smith’s face also looks much slimmer as a result of the treatment.
Following the first treatment, Miss Smith said that she did not notice any change – but gradually over the course of a few weeks, the shape of her face began to change.
