A voluntary recall has been made for the ASR XL Acetabular Hip System and DePuy ASR Hip Resurfacing System due to a number of problems arising from the complications and implications patients are faced with after undergoing hip replacements.
These systems were first introduced in July 2003 therefore, patients who have received hip replacements and resurfacing treatment prior to this, will appear to be unaffected by the recall which was only recently announced in August 2010.
Patients who have received hip replacements after July 2003 should contact 5R1 Claims for a free initial assessment to determine whether a claim for compensation can be brought under the Consumer Protection Act.
Unfortunately, patients who have been affected by the use of faulty hip replacements provided by DePuy appear to be suffering from severe and excruciating pain and swelling. In some cases, there are concerns for patients who may develop tumours as a result of the artificial joint which has been fitted.
5R1 Claims has gained vast experience and knowledge with these types of claims over the previous month and are able to deal with your case in a professional yet sympathetic way. Our main priority is to ensure patients who have received these hip replacements are put in touch with specialist solicitors who have experience in handling these cases which have only recently began.
5R1 Claims urges patients to contact their trained medical claims handlers who are able to offer free and impartial advice for claims arising from the DePuy recall for hip replacements. It is imperative that patients should begin initial investigations into their hip replacement sooner rather than later, due to the severity of the consequences. Importantly, there are reported cases of the hip replacements being reversed if they were done after July 2003.
5R1 Claims are able to take into account any further treatment required as a result of the defective joints as well as damages for pain, suffering, injuries and loss of earnings. 5R1 Claims is experienced with handling complex cases for medical negligence with the support of determined and highly commended solicitors who can provide access to justice at no cost to the patient.
5R1 Claims kindly informs that cases for these hip replacements will be against the manufacturer under the Consumer Protection Act.
