A 15-year-old school pupil has died after being hit by a car on Friday afternoon (06/11/09).
Local newspaper the St Albans and Harpenden Review reports that the teenage girl was hit by a Peugeot 205 car on the A405 North Orbital Road at the junction of Chequer Lane. The accident occurred at around 3.45pm as the car was heading out of Watford.
The teenager came from Bricket Wood and was a pupil at Parmiter’s School in Hertfordshire.
After the accident she was taken to Charing Cross Hospital. However, doctors were unable to save her and her life support machine was switched off.
Police say the teenager was either using a pedestrian crossing at the time of the accident – or was very close to one.
They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the accident to come forward. |
